    7,500DM = £2,422 approx so it's not exactly cheap!

I'm sure Reiner will do a much better job than Babel Fish but here goes!<br />"The new Top DVD audio /Video Player of Denon, the DVD-A1, will be presumably starting from spring 2002 available. The THX of Ultra certified bolide is to cost at least 7500 DM after past planning. On the IFA already was a prototype, which corresponded optically already rather exactly to the later series product. The DVD-A1 comes including the Denon own AL24-Processing, D-CRs and D-CRcWs as well as MP3-CDs can be shown. Of course also this Denon DVD Player in a the position is to output progressive Scan picture signals. The other new DVD Player still comes into this year, so the DVD-1600 849 Euros., DVD audio /Video Player) in November, the DVD-800 449 Euros, DVD video Player) at the end of September."

    Regards

Hmmm, still no mainstream multiple scaling rate players. Looks like cinematrix is still going solo with its moded players

480p progressive is more or less a waste of time for many 8/9" Projector owners without Scalers.

The 'imminent' Princeton Graphics 5000 multi scaling DVD player has still not appeared after nearly two years of balony. Lord Lucan is more likely to make an appearance.

    Two and a half grand!!

I thought they were going to make it cheaper than their last DVD5000 which was good BUT too expensive!!

Reserve my judgement until i see it in action though!!

    cheers

    Tim,

If you really want to partner your gear with something special, try a reinforced floor. I too have an A1SE, fed by a Toshiba SD900E, if I put any more weight in my rack the living room will explode. Sounds to me like a Denon THX ceritified DVD player could void my building and contents insurance. Puts a whole new meaning to 'China Syndrome'.

Thanks for the replies gents. £2500 ain't cheap, by no disguises. But I can't think of any two grand plus machines that don't cut the mustard in both video and audio terms. It must be able to do Pal progressive after a bit of fidling, just like the 2800. I've got the A1se and kef THX. They're not cheap and its only fair to partner them with something special. You'll have to excuse me, I'm just trying to justify it to myself. I think I'll get one anyway!
