Hi everyone,
I have 2 Denon dvd 3800 bd players. Recently, I have been having problems (with both machines) playing the following UK blu rays: American Pie Reunion, The Five Year Engagement, The World is Not Enough and Conan the Barbarian (Arnie version). Using the 7.1 analogue outs, on certain chapters, I get a cracking and distortion noise through my speakers. If I replay just the chapter, the distortion doesn't happen. However, if I play the disc from the start of the film, the distortion occurs. The distortion and cracking generally lasts a few seconds. It happens with both players and the blu ray discs are not faulty. The latest firmware has been installed. Denon say it could be the laser pickup. I was just wondering if anyone else had experienced this problem and whether it is worth using a lens cleaner first? If so, what would people recommend? Also, is it easy enough to replace the lens?
Thanks in advance and sorry for the longish post,
Richard.
