It would appear there are already several versions on MR firmware being used as suggested by "thewall". I know of 2. Using the procedure you can find the following 1. Power the unit off. 2. While pressing together the "Play" and "Open/Close" buttons, press "Power". 3. In the display you will see the Play and Pause symbols. 4. Now, using the remote control, press the "Menu" button. With each press of the button, you will scroll thru the different versions of the the unit. First is the "DRV", followed by the "B/E" and finally the "Panel". Using the front panel button, power the unit off to return to normal operation. Mine is DRV 030307 B/E 6237 Panel 0043-f (this matches the version No on the file) thewall has 0042-f While the French on http://www.homecinema-fr.com are talking about 0041-f So this might explain some of the difference we have been seeing. Anyone else care to check??
I was thinking about that - perhaps the MR firmware that disables PAL Progressive (so you have to re-enable it) is an old version and theres a newer version that doesn't disable it.
hi guys. Finally got around to checking my version. DRV 030307 B/E 6237K and as Zor said.... panel 0042-f And this did NOT disable prog pal or prog ntsc. It only set everything back to factory default. Haven't found any problem discs yet.
Hello.. my Denon DVD-2900 are USA model and have this firmware: DRV 030307 B/E 6237 Panel 6236 Im looking for a multiregion firmware... I have the file PDH29VND.CPN sended for a french and swedish users. But Im afraid to apply in a USA model without SCART. I have my player locked at region 1. Please help me to make my player region free. Regards, Juan
Just a question for those of you posting firmware numbers, the two different "B/E" versions I'm aware of so far in Australia are "6237K" and "6237m" (ie with a letter after the number, rather than just the number by itself). Is there also a version with no letter at all after it (as above)? I wonder what the suffix letter means then... For the record, my 2900 (which is an R2 one - multi-region, with PAL progressive enabled, April 03 build date) is: DRV 030307 B/E 6237K PANEL 0043-f ted.h.
Those of you interested Ver.00.42f is dated 2003/05/08 Ver.00.43f is dated 2003/05/16 and seems to be the UK version and needs the remote hack to re-enable Pal Prog
If you make the procedure to know the firmware after see It you can push the Pause buton and the entire display shows hiden icons...obviously its the same display for 9000 and 3800. You can see the HDCD and MPEG icons... I put a CD with MPEG then a Div-X and Mini-DVD the player recognize this CD´s as CD and show the total time in the display but I can see or hear anything. Zor, can you send me the firmware you have? Thanks
