Denon DVD 1600 not outputting 5.1 chan dolby

I have a new installed system and the denon Dvd 1600 will only output 3/2.1 Dolby even though ?I have a 5 channel system and playing a 5.1 dvd disk

3/2.1 is Dolby 5.1 but that's how the format is sometimes shown. 3 front channels, 2 surround channels and .1 for the LFE channel. 5.1 in total.

Just make sure the player is outputting a Bitstream signal and you should be fine.
