    Hi everyone

I recently bought a Denon DVD 1500 with the Denon AVR-3801 receiver. I'm very impressed with the 3801, but so far the 1500 dvd player has underwhelmed me somewhat.

This has probably been posted before but as a new member I wanted to get some 2nd opinions. The 1st sign of problems was when it jumped straight to the Special features menu on the Patriot (Mel Gibson)

It wouldn't play any of the features or the movie. Then it skipped back chapters on the Independence day dvd. At this point I sent it back and it had a software upgrade of sorts.

The Patriot is now fine (haven't tried ID4 yet) but having looked at reviews of the 1500, it seems that it's an issue with an EEPROM chip or something?

Any idea wot this chip does? It also appears that upgrading it may not work also. So far so good with me but I'm hardly what u could call over confident about it.

If anybody has any stories about similar experiences with this player, feel free to post back to me.

PS I'm in the fortunate position that I bought it from a small but very specialist local store who are more than willing to take it back and offer a full refund if it still doesn't work.

Big high street guys take note....this is what we call in the trade customer service!!
