    Hi All,

I have a DCD1520 CD player, it's been a brilliant machine with no problems over the last 12-13 years but recently it has developed a problem with the eject function :( . The tray opens up OK but don't close correctly, without a helping hand that is, is this just a matter of replacing a belt or it is something more serious??

    Thanks for any advice.

    Lea

I think these normally work via cogged wheels rather than a belt. They should also be lubricated for 'life', so if thiis is failing you may have to accept the fact it is at the end of said life. If the cd player was top end and well regarded there may be scope for refurbishment.

This particular CD player ,back in its day, was broadcast quality and cost me £500 around 1991, so would say it was fairly top end. By todays standards though its probably equivalant to a £100 player
