    Need some newbie advice.
Given I already own the Denon AVR-3806 AV Receiver.
Will I get better sound if I just get the better Denon DCD-1500AE? or will I get better sound by opting for the cheaper DCD-700AE+PMA-700AE Amp.
Cost will be around £400 for either option.
Any guidance would be most appreciated.

The DCD1500ae will certainly sound better than most DVD players, but it will be held back a little by your amplifier. If music is very important to you, go for a seperate hi-fi system. You could add the DCD1500 to what you have and buy the PMA 1500 at a later date and give yourself a better hi-fi system in the longer term. Also this will give you a wider choice of quality speakers to choose from.
