Not having any response in another thread, so trying again here.
I recently got a Denon AVRX3000 in an open box sale from Super-Fi, and was absolutely delighted with price and quality. However, I've now noticed that when the AV is off (that is to say in stand-by mode but still plugged in) I can detect a faint electrical whine coming from it. This stops as soon as the AV is switched on again.
Is this a sign that the AV is failing, or likely to conk out? Or in the experience of anyone who has the make, do all Denon's tend to make this noise? The AV I replaced with this one was an Onkyo 609 (going to sell this if anyone is interested) which was totally silent when in stand-by.
