Hi there
I had just upgraded my 12 year old Denon 3808CI to 3700 model. I am simply not able to get my 160Gb iPod Classic analog connection to either the CD or Game analog RIGHT & LEFT ports to work. It used to work with the 3808CI .
I had chatted with DENON support and he told me to reset all of the Audio inputs to factory defaults which I did . Still no audio from the iPod Classic analog connection to either CD or GAME inputs ..
Am I missing anything? Is there a setting on the iPod I need to change ?

Thanks in advance

Is this just using a 3.5mm jack plugged into the headphone port of the iPod?

If it is then I'd suggest it's probably the AVR inputs not configured correctly.

Pretty much all of the various inputs are assignable on your Denon so each named source can have combinations of analogue, digital and HDMI inputs assigned to them. Check the menus for an input assignment section.

Additionally each named source has an input mode option where you can choose digital, analogue etc.

It's all covered here in the manual

Make sure the source you're connecting the iPod to has an analogue input assigned and the input mode is set to analogue for that source

Hi
Many thanks for your response . Responses to the queries.
1. The connection is not via the 3.5 mm headphone port but via the 30 pin connector to Red and White analog connector to the CD analog ports . Photo attached
2. Had checked that the CD connector , port #5 is set to analog . Photo attached
Still no audio ...

I am using the headphone jack output of my iPod dock to the CD input of my x3700 without issue. I do, however, need to keep the volume of the iPod up pretty high.

If the volume isn't an issue, I would try another analog source on the CD port to verify the port is working. Then you can isolate the problem between the source and sink. Also maybe try a headphone to RCA cable from the headphine jack of the iPod to see if you get results.

Thanks for your response . So the problem seems to have fixed itself after I followed your recommendations .
Basically I
1. Switched out the 30 pin dock connector with the Headphone to RCA connection in CD. See attached photo
2. Switched the AMP.Assigment value from the default 7.1 + Zone 2 to 5.1 (Bi-Amp) + Zone 2.
The audio from the iPod came through the speakers.!!
3. Switched back the Headphone to RCA with the 30 pin connector to the RCA connection in CD
The audio from the iPod still .worked and came through the speakers. !
My zone #1 speaker set up is 5.1

Many thanks for all.your help
