Anyone got any ideas which is better???

I would use the amp for TV, Blu-ray and music (and a little xbox)

currently running a 2.1 set up only but would be looking to move up to 5.1 when i can afford it.

any light anyone can spread would be very welcome.

Thanks

I have just purchased the Denon, after changing my mind about the 606.

I popped into Richard Sounds, and when I saw it in the flesh, was surprised how big, and ugly it was!!!!!!!

From a features point of view, I am led to believe they are very similar.

The only thing I would say, having read through a number of different threads, is that the Onkyo seems to kick out a lot of heat!!!!!

Yep exactly the same as you. I took a long long look at the Onkyo and decided I just couldn't do it.

Well happy with the Denon :)

Yes the amp is capable of decoding HD Audio and music sounds very good using the Denon. It scored points above the Onkyo for this very reason in several reviews I read before buying a 1909.

The Sony BD350 can bitstream DTS HD/MA and decode internally TrueHD. I think it can possibly bitstream TrueHD but I'm not 100% on that.

The sound is nice and suits my listening styles. I'll listen to some more tonight and give you a more interesting comment :)

Got the Amp all set up and the sound is great even though I'm only using a stereo setup at the moment.
