I've got an absolutely mint condition black Denon AVR-X7200WA 9-channel AV receiver for sale with all original accessories and packaging. It has the Auro-3D upgrade (I'll include two Auro-3D demo discs) and is running all the latest firmware.

I've also got a black Cambridge Audio Azur 651W 2-channel power amplifier which is also in mint condition and includes all the original accessories and packaging.

I was running an 11-channel system, with the 651W handling the front left and right channels and the X7200WA handling everything else.

I'm looking for £1,500 for both as a system but will consider splitting.

    Hi Steve,

I could be potentially interested in the Denon but hoping you could advise.

I’m currently running MA Silver RX8s (front L&R), RX center, RXFX rears and two RXW12 subs through a Pioneer SC-LX72. I’ve recently purchased 4 CP-CT380IDCs for the ceiling and based on my reading believe the Denon would be suitable without requiring the CA Azur. I was looking at the Pioneer SC-LX901 so would you be able to comment on what the main deference’s may be performance/power etc?

Also how much would you be looking for just the Denon and would it be possible to collect some point Friday evening? I’m driving down from Bedford to Bristol Friday afternoon to pickup a Sony 75ZD9 and Bath is next door.

    Thanks

    Andrew

PS. I won’t be adding anymore speakers as SWMBO would divorce me

The Denon is a 9-channel receiver, so it can run the 5.2.4 system you have on its own. I haven't reviewed the Pioneer SC-LX901 but based on my experiences with previous Pioneer AVRs I have found them to be very good, usually with plenty of power. However for my money, and it literally was my money since I bought one after reviewing it, the X7200 is superior with a better design, better menus, better amplification in real terms, better features, better room eq etc. If you wanted to buy the X7200 on its own, I can do it for £1,200 and I am around on Friday afternoon.

I have a SC-LX501 and think these new Pioneers sound much nicer than the "older" LX models. I owned an SC-LX58 and later SC-LX88 as well, but they both were harsh as hell i couldn't stand its sound with my Klipsch speakers. This was true for movies and music. :S

Denon is a good alternative if you after a more laid back signature. :)

@T4molie are you still interested in the X7200? If so I could sort something out with you and @Wavod today.

I could offer £1,050 for the X7200WA on the condition that you would agree to meet me to exchange the receiver for cash tomorrow afternoon where the A46 meets the M4 as this would save me having to come into Bath on my way to Bristol (or way back whichever suits best time wise)?

I'm going to archive this thread and start again for the Cambridge Audio 651W.
