Am I alone with the 6200 on planet AVF? Hopefully not and someother lucky owners will join in.

I was able to set the unit up this afternoon. Like all recent Denons that have all speaker connections in one row it proved an easy job especially as at the moment I'm just running a basic 5.1. The setting up guide was so easy even the wife could follow it. Likewise Audyssey was simple. For those without a tripod a cardboard one is supplied, I used my photographic tripod with a small extension arm, just right.

It's built like a tank and weighs in at a hefty 14.1kg, but not too deep to fit comfortably in my cabinet, a reason why I had to discount the Marantz 7010. I've connected with Denon Link and have a very simplistic set up, just the Sky+ box by optical and my Denon DBT 3313 by HDMI and the DL.

We have sat through two concert discs, one a blu ray and the other an SD DVD. The sound is brilliant, clear and precise, much more detail than the old faithful 2310. The DVD of Simon and Garfunkel's Old Friends is sounding like a whole new recording. Well impressed with it's musicality. Now for some films.

So according to the Home Cinema Choice review the Audessey calibration is really detrimental to the sound - I don't own any other way of measuring audio etc so will be reliant on it, at least for the initial setup. How did it perform on yours?

I read that. I've also read similar reviews for other receivers with different room correction systems. What you have to remember is that the reviewers are experts and setting up and listening to equipment in virtually perfect conditions, the the vast majority the likes of Audyssey is a god send.

I set up the 6200 in exactly the same position measuring positions as I did with the 2310 with the 6200's two extra positions. My wife likes to sit well off axis and so I was able to get a more accurate reading for her. There was a definate improvement, especually in bass management. She's not a lover of heavy loud bass but now swears she can hear it better, I've not had to turn it down it is more refined and detailed, which is probably down to a better receiver coupled with the higher quaility Audyssey, ie EQ versus XT32.

My MLP is certainly a very sweet spot, almost like a wall of sound but with such detail. I'll have to re-run when the R50s arrive but at the moment really happy with the Audyssey results. BTW I have Dynamic EQ turned off.

Yes, sort of! I have it all connected up and I have done a quick calibration but I haven't really had a chance to dial down my settings and get the balance right. It has measured all my distances too long but I am not sure if I should manually change them to a more accurate distance or leave them. At the weekend (when the house is a little quieter) I will run a full Audyssey calibration and see where I'm at. I have found the Denons always seem to make my rear speakers too loud and the sub a little too quiet but I need to have a proper play. I love the amp itself though and have the DTSX upgrade.

    How are you finding it?

I'm loving it, especially for music. My disappointment of being unable to fit a Marantz 7010 into my cabinet has swiftly evaporated. The only thing that initially annoyed me was the very bright blue light on the Denon player that shows Denon Link is working. As for the Audyssey set up that went perfectly, ran it in a silent house, obviously I will have to re-run when the R50s arrive, so any info or tips on that will be welcome.

Managed to find this for £1K after Px-ing my pioneer receiver. Super pleased with this price and cannot wait until payday so I can seal the deal.

I'm considering this amp as well, currently have a pioneer lx76 which is great but want to get something with all the latest hdmi connectivity plus maybe dabble with atmos etc, I already run a 7.1 setup with my MA RS6 setup, used to have the, paired with a denon 2807 and always loved the sound so miss it a little. I did consider the X4200 but based on my current setup I would need a further amp to provide power to front atmos speakers I believe, either that or sacrifice a pair of my rears which I don't really want to do.

Yes, the 6200 is a 9 channel amp and you could run 2 front atmos and keep the current rears, the 4200 is just capable of running 7 channels. Also has more power per channel than the 4200.

It's a great amp, really recommend it. I have a 5.1.2 setup now but as soon as the R50's are back in stock I am going to get another pair for a 5.1.4 setup.

Just looking to see who has the best deals at the moment, seems that £1400 is the norm right now, need to sell my pioneer, was watching one on eBay the other day and it went for around £450 plus postage, as it's so new out I'm tempted to wait a little until it drops a little more, only had the pioneer maybe 18 months, the Mrs won't be overly pleased that I'm wanting to change it so soon, they don't understand sometimes these women do they!!

Give Peter Tyson a ring. They are offering a trade in on Denon and Marantz equipment and will take av equipment as p/x. I got £350 for a Denon blu ray player that was gathering dust in my bedroom.

My pioneer came from them to be honest and they've always seemed helpful so was planning on picking the phone up to them. Cheers.

Not sure if this model is HDCP 2.2 compliant as my model, which is a Denoin 910. Can anyone confirm HDCP 2.2 compliance on this device?

    Why are you asking this?

Yes, all of Denon's current line up are HDCP 2.2 compliant.

...and to also find out what HDMI ports on the Denon are HDCP 2.2 and which ones are not, in order to figure out where I can plug in the Samsung UHD player

Just making sure I can plug UHD player in any of the 8 HDMI ports...I know some devices only carry 1 HDMI port for HDCP 2.2 but not the others

Trouble is you ask the same question and Dante gives you the same answer on at least two different threads on Denon receivers.

Trouble is, there is no dedicated thread for my Denon model so I posed the same question on the only two dedicated Denon threads I found. And I dont think Dante is annoyed, copy and paste is a beautiful thing:)

Why the need to ask the same question twice though? The board does actually request its members don't cross post the same questions to multiple threads. I am annoyed that I had to answer the same question twice, as would most members and I believe this to be the reason why the rule exists?

I'm considering this model for a 7.1.4 setup and would like to ask a question.

I will use my 2 channel stereo amp for music cd's. The front left and right speakers (of the 7.1.4) would be connected to my stereo amp and the stereo amp connected to the pre-outs of the Denon X6200. If I did this would I have enough channels to power all the other speakers without needing an additional power amp? I believe I'll be ok but want to check with you experts out there.
