Hi all, I hope you can help please.

I have a Denon X2300W avr with the following speakers:
    • Two ceiling speakers (they sound brill) - connected to Front Left and Front Right
    • Subwoofer
    • Two Bose 161 bookshelf speakers which I want to use as front height. They are connected to Surround Back Left and Right

The sound test to check the speakers are connected works fine - all speakers make a noise.

However, during playback of films, music and anything else I’ve tried they’re just silent. Any ideas?

The front speaker are set to ‘Small’.

    Thanks,
    Dan

I guess you are still getting a picture?
Is your player connected via HDMI?
Try obvious things first like volume on both the amp and player.
Make sure settings on both your player and amp have the audio set to HDMI too.

Thank you! Yep everything else is fine (all the inputs etc). It just doesn’t seem to use the speakers for sound other than the ‘test notes’.
