    Good Day,

I have narrowed my receiver choice down to the above two receivers and am looking for feedback regarding the comparison between the two, matching components for either and possible any other suggestions of product matching the features of these two.

At present I already understand the Denon has one extra HDMI input but has 10 watts per channel less power than the Marantz. Specifically I am interested in any info regarding the components that are in each as well as opinions of the matching DVD players Denon VS Marantz.

    Any feedback is appreciated.

    Brian

Shame AV Land's specs aren't always correct. They still haven't got the Flagship A1XV's listed properly yet.

Think they listed it before the final specs were released for pre-order and havent had time to go back and update it. Might be worth firing them an email pointing it out :)

I thought it ment you could upgrade the firmware over firewire, maybe from a denon equiped player or from a pc, but I might have got the wrong end of thr stick.

But the A1SR specs used to say firewire prepared DSP for future upgrades , but it never had firewire.

Fair enough, confusion all around. Why would an end user care if the DSP was firewire enabled, but never actualy had a firewire, maybe it's possible to get a third party upgrade ?

My understanding was that there was a possibility that the A1SR could be upgraded to firewire in the future (though that is looking unlikely to a lot of peoples disgust).

I don't know perhaps it's me that's got the wrong end of it all ;)

BTW, I do not think the 4806 is the A11XV, but more the A1 in the UK, the 5806 is the A11XV behemoth monster beast :).

The SR9600 is also yet to be released in the UK, but its specs are impressive, and should give the A1 (or whatever model it is now) a good run for its money :D
