Denon AVR 1920 Powers Off When Switched on

Hey,

So I was playing an XB360 game earlier today and my Denon (AVR 1906) just powered itself off. I had just turned the volume up quite loud.

Now when I go to switch it on it powers up for about 2-3 seconds, then switches itself off again.

Any ideas?

Sounds like the protection circuit has cut in.
Leave it a while to cool down and it should be ok.

How long is a while - it happened about 2 hours ago now and I've switched it on a few times with no joy .. got a fan on it as I type. Must admit it don't feel too hot..

Oh and yes the game was Rock Band !

I can see the newspaper headlines now ... forget freddie ate my hamster .. more Rock Band Killed my Denon !

Disconnect everything and try again.
If it still won't turn on, it's duff :thumbsdow

Yer will take it down to Richer Sounds tomorrow - doubt it's still under warranty but at least I can start the ball rolling terms of a fix. I'm sure it won't be as expensive as brand new amp.

Lucky I have a spare Yamaha downstairs - so going to move that up on a temporary basis.

Try one last thing.
Unplug it from the wall, leave for 10 mins, then try again.
You never know.
