I just won this on ebay for 168 quid!! Cant wait to get it home to replace my very crap Technics 5.1 surround hi-fi, to which I have had nothing but bother from from day one. But now I have a dedicated amp, I know its not HDMI ready, but as you can see from the picture, its still has everything original including box. The guy is even posting it with receipt and warranty. He's only had it a few months and only selling it as he upgraded to an HDMI set up

Well done, a great amp at a great price - enjoy! Mine has served me well for the last 16 months with not a whiff of a problem. :smashin:

Hi truscotsman72,

I also have a Technica 5.1 hifi thing. I cannot remember the model name right now but it has a 5 disc DVD player which ONLY plays original CDs/DVDs. e.g. does not play CDR, DVD-R etc!

I don't think the sound and picture is up to much so I want to upgrade and I am also considering the Denon AVR 1906. A mate of mine has the AVR 1905 with Tanoy surround sounds speakers and it sounds very nice.

Do you recommend the Denon? If so, what speakers are you using? I want something that is excellent for movies but also adequate/good for hifi listening either via a dedicated CD player or by using a DVD player (will purchase a new one I think).

Thanks!
