Hi,

Am a newbie. I recently bought a WD HD Media player and I want to connect it to my Denon AVR-1906 surround receiver. For ref, i have attached the related pictures to all you techies. For now, i am simply connecting WD HD TV with my panasonic 32inch TV through HDMI port and watching. And my surround system is sleeping . I definitely dont want to continue this way. What should I do?

ASAP pls:thumbsup:

you'll need to use that optical output straight into the amp, HDMI to the tv.

Is the optical cable just enough to carry the sound to the amplifier? No other connections needed?

Also, I have already connected a DVD player connected. Hope I dont need to remove that from the amplifier.

Yes the optical is enough to carry the audio.

You have two optical inputs on the 1906, as long as one is unused you will be ok.

As above, you may need to allocate the 2nd optical input to a source, otherwise just scroll through until you start hearing what you would expect to hear and then you are good to go :)
