    I'm looking for a home cinema to go with my new LCD screen, but it must play CD's reasonably well.

    I tried an all in one, it went straight back to the shop as the CDs sounded terrible. So I'm lookin for separates now. I would like the Amp and DVD to be the same makes to reduce the amount of remotes I have to use. My budget is only about £500. I am torn between these two sets of equipment;

    Denon AVR 1705, Denon DVD 1710, and Denon SYS A3L speaker system.
    Marantz SR 4400, Marantz DV 4400, and maybe Canton CD1 speaker system.

    Both the Denon Amp and DVD has component video connections to connect to my LCD. The Marantz amp does not have component video connections, but the marantz DVD player has one.
    I think the Marantz may play CD's better, (which would be important for me) but I'm not really sure.

    Does any one have any thoughts on which I should go for?
