Right, was almost set on buying a Denon AVR-1804 from Hyperfi as advertised at £149 (!!!!), but surprise, surprise they reckon they have NO denon receievrs at all, don't know when they're getting them back in and can't say what price they'll be when they do come back. So decided that they just talk and advertise a load of ****e so can't be bothered to pursue them.
Started looking at prices of Denon 1705 and 1905, cheapest for 1705 I found was £187 delivered, and the 1905 £223 delivered.
I read the review on the 1705 in What HiFi and thought it sounded good. A little worried of RRP at on;y £250 but maybe the technology is moving so fast that it gets cheaper by the day.
Anyway, to the point!! I read on here that the 1905 is repalcement for 1604 and 1705 replacement for 1404?? Does this mean that the 1705 is actually pretty poor spec and a 1604 would be a better amp?
Or is it that the 1705 may be a replacement for 1404 but because technology has moved on it is as good as or better than the old 1604?
Or is the 1905 FAR better than the 1705 and worth the extra £36?
Have also seen the Yam RX-V450 advertised for aorund £210-£215, is this any contender to the AVR-1905?
Sorry about all the questions, I haven't kept up with the AV market for the last few months and I've lost touch slightly!!
