ive just came into the possession of a denon avc-10se amp and was wandering if it has a fan on the back. there seems to be a grill on the back where a fan should be.

if it does have a fan then does it only come on when the amp gets to a certain temp, or should it be on all the time the amp is powered up?

Apparently it's a two speed temperature sensitive fan. I've never heard mine running, although I guess you wouldn't if the amp is playing loud!

    regards,
    Rob.

I believe that there are 2 fans which fitted to the Amp chamber from front to back. There are also 4 modes which use a combination of None/front/Back/Both depending on the heat level.

If you pump out something that gives it a good workout (Robbie's Knebworth concert) seems to get them all going at around -10. The rear fan should well and truly come to life, and it feels like a hairdryer on full pelt.

    Hope this helps
