Denon AV remote app has blu-ray controls but doesn't work on CEC Samsung BD

Hi,

Background:
I have a CEC/ARC configuration Samsung BD-H6500 - Denon AVR-X3200W - LG OLED48C1PTB.
TV input is HDMI 2(the one with ARC), and the BD player is connected to HDMI 3 (AVR calls this the blu-ray input).

CEC seems to work: turning on the BD player turns on everything up the chain with the AVR and TV at the right sources.
Turning off at the TV turns off everything down the chain. Now...

Puzzle:
Denon has an iOS/Android app "AV Remote". When the BD input is active the interface changes to present a blu-ray remote
with GRBY 1234 buttons, INFO, arrow keys etc etc — you get the drift. However these buttons don't actually do anything to the Samsung
player.

Does anyone know how these app controls work? Is this part of CEC or intended only for Denon BD players?

Both the iOS and Android apps show this "feature" on input 3(blu-ray). In contrast — if I choose HDMI 4-game the interface
presents an audio stream depiction: it shows what the AVR is receiving(Input) and what the AVR is sending(output, up-mixing) to the speakers
with no fancy remote control emulation.
