My Denon AV-A10SE and & POA-T10 Power Amp both specify that the speakers should be between 6-16 ohms. The amp isn't switchable for different ratings.

The Kef speakers I'm looking at are 4 ohms. What implications could this have? I Bi-Amp at the moment, would this cause any difficulties?

    Cheers,

    Mark.

DENON and THX test and certify down to below 4ohms, they just don't print it.

Unless you operate a Disco during the weekend I don't see a problem, every modern not-too-cheap AV amp/receiver should be able to handle a 4 Ohm load. Even then there should be some protection (thermal or load). No prob with your gear I assume.
If you bi-amp I would worry even less as you have distributed the load to different amps already.

However also the speakers sensitivity (measure in dB) may make a difference, the higher, the better. Around the 90dB mark is pretty good (+/- 3dB).

The Denon will run the speakers no problem at all.

As MarkB says, THX amps will run speakers down to 4 ohms (and below)

    cheers
