Just bought Denon DHT-500SD and was wondering the best way to hook it up to my TV.

I have a telewest cable TV box which ideally I want to output in surround sound along with a new Sharp VCR.

The denon has hundreds of I/O

The video has scart and composite I think and the TV has Scart and s-video too.

So how do I connect the denon home cinema, telewest box and vcr to my TV so I can watch DVDs and the footie in surround sound?

    :lease: help!!

The DHT500 has Dolby Pro Logic so you get pseudo surround sound from a stereo source such as a VCR. If the cable box has digital audio thats the best way to go, just plug it into the coaxial or optical input.

Did you buy from unbeatable? My player is region 2 only which was a bit of a disappointment, how about you?

Bought from QED-UK.com, not used it yet but I believe it is region 2 only.

Like you I thought they were multi-region :thumbsdow

Like you I've got an ADV-500SD - anyone know where to get the multi-region upgrade?

    Its here - http://www.leedsdig.plus.com/

Please, take real care with doing this - if you are not sure of what you are doing it is possible to destroy your machine.

Trust me, I am talking from bitter experience.

I have an issue with the same denon

I have it connected to SKY+ the following was

    1 SCART TV-SKY TV
    1 SCART DENON-SKY VCR

When i put the Denon to DVD everything works fine i.e. picture and sound
However, when i put the Denon to TV i get sound but no picture.

As soon as i turn off the Denon i get the picture back on the TV.

Did have a old surround sound previously and the same connections worked great.

    HELP PLEASE
