I have the Denon connected to a Panasonic PD50 with component cables but Progressive Scan is not being detected.

Is the Denon PS capable and, if so, how do you turn it on?

Yes it's definitely progressive scan. There's a button on the front panel of the unit which you push to switch between progressive and interlaced.

Failing that, you could always RTM ;)
