Any idea why the 3910 starts to block or freeze on some DVD's. This is mainly with my DVD backup copies. These copies play perfectly OK on my Panny DMR E65?
I am assuming it is because the 3910, in pursuit of quality, is simply less tolerant?

Assuming these are DVD-R, have you tried a different make (datawrite grey?)
Try burning at a slower speed, for the blocking you may need to burn over 2 (single layer) disks

Yes, tried different makes and this has improved. I'm splitting across two discs to avoid compression and preserve the quality. (I use a projector and can't afford any loss of quality).
I will try burning at a slower speed and look at the datawrite grey.

    Thanks :)
