Denon 3910 and Pioneer 436 XDE problem

    Got my new Pioneer today and it looks good (buzzes though).

    I am having a problem with the DVD player though. It is hooked up to input 3 on the Plasma via HDMI.

    I tested that it worked before I put the tv up etc... and everything was fine now however when the other items are plugged in namely sky and another dvd player I get no picture or sound at all.

    Everything seems to be working fine apart from in the bottom left hand corner their is the letters F and V which keep flashing alternatively. I have a second 3910 in my home cinema room hooked up to my projector and on that when playing a film the V stays on permanently.

    Does anyone have an idea what I have done. No settings have been changed since I tested it so I am thinking it must be something to do with the Plasma.

    Any input is greatly appreciated, thanks, Russell.

    I guess you've remembered to turn the HDMI back on on the 3910. I'm sure you know that when you turn component on it turns HDMI & DVI off, and vica versa?

    I think this is the only thing it could be on 3910. Otherwise it'll be display related.

    It ended it up being the cable.

    Lucky enough I have another 3910 via HDMI in my HC room and after swopping them around I was able to troubleshoot it to the cable.

    With the amount of stress these people are having with their plasmas,
    I wonder how many ever check the quality of their cables and connections ? :oops:

    It was the last thing I expected as it had worked 20 minutes prior. I spent three hours troubleshooting carrying my two different 3910's up and down the stairs before I worked it out.

    glad u nailed the problem.......would hate for the people who dont like the 3910 to have jumped on this as an excuse to tell people not to buy it...hehe *winds it up*

    musta been fun lugging them up and down the stairs...lol..i got one meself and it aint exactly lightweight or small!
