    :lease:

Trying to decide between the above three as they are all more of less in a similar price bracket though at local prices in Malta, the Denon is £816, the Yamaha £765 and the Pioneer £820.

Speakers I will be using this with are KEF Q7, Q9c, Q2ds in a large ish room (47m2)

What are the general views of the guru's in here?

    Thanks

I would have thought that the Denon’s main competitors would be the Yamaha 2500 and Pioneer AX5Ai.

Out of the 3 you mentioned, if you plan to utilise dvd-a/sacd then I would go for the Denon 3805 or Pioneer 2014i as they both have i-link.

It depends what speakers you’re partnering them with, however for all-round ability I would go for the Denon 3805 – plus it has ‘that’ funky remote

Thanks for your replay Tejstar, it seems strange I admit that given the UK RRP of the 3805 for some reason locally the price seems to be competitive. I just wanted to check whether the Denon Link is proprietory to just Denon players or not?

    Speakers I would be using are KEF Q series (Q7, Q9c, Q2ds)

Plus points for me on the Denon are: Local Price/Performance, Funky Remote and the fact I've never owned one!!

As far as i know the Denon link is exclusive to Denon products. However, I imagine the next iteration will have i-link , especially since the Denon 3910 has both Denon link and i-link!

The Denon and Kef match would be very compatible - a good choice

I have the 2014i and it's a very nice amp. My fist one ever so I can't really compare it but very nice. I have it hooked up to my 868 with the i-Link and it makes everything a breeze. No need for seven billion other cables. I got the 2014i for £650 from http://krishav.co.uk/store/prodView.asp?idProduct=1008&idCategory=494
Same day delivery and excellent service.
