Hi guys. Time for an upgrade. Mr Mint card has just been cleared and in a spending mood. I've read countless reviews for both amps and I can't decide. Mainly to be used for dvd watching.
Any thoughts you would like to share??

    Thanks in advance

    Pete

Well I've had a Denon 3805 and until tomorrow have a Pioneer Ax5ai-s.

    Which is best?

    Niether

Both awesome machines and well worth every penny. However both sound different. The Pioneer can sound harsh and the Denon can sound warm. Down to personal taste Im affraid.

If you have a Pioneer 868 DVD player ect. then the AX5 wins just because of the I-link option. The THX on the Ax-5 or any other machine IMHO is not worth having, just another gimmick (tin hat firmly in place  ).

The prices that the AX5 is going for now is crazy and if I where buying right now would be the choice, not because it was, the best but because it is equal best and lots cheaper

PS Had Stella tonight so the above might not make sense :suicide:

Don't forget the Yamaha RX-2500- I dem'd both the other two before going for it- and it's available for around £550.00 from Germany, took only 3 days to arrive too :smashin:

    No i-link though

That said, you can't go wrong with either of the others
