I noticed this evening, for the first time, that the VFD on my 3805 is now significantly less bright than the VFD on my 3910 DVD.

I have not changed any settings (not sure if there is a setting for display brightness, the manual is just too tiresome), so I wonder if the display is starting to fail.

Both machines are approximately 9 months old.

    TIA

Try looking at the word 'dimmer' on your remote?

Tiresome is when you have to read the damn things for a living, as I did when I did calibration and repair of test equipment for a living.

Both Player and amp have dimmer buttons, maybe you want to try dimming the 3910 down to the same level as the amp?

Aha, trouble is my remote batteries have just given up, so it is no use to me until I replace them.

Which page of the manual contains the reference to RTFM, BTW....no time to read the full manual, of course...

For the 3805 it is a note on page 39, for the 3910 it is on page 14 and 15.

Got my remote re-batteried now. Can see the dimmer control and all is now well.

Who needs a massive and obscure manual with such a forum as this!

    Many thanks
