I've noticed on this forum a reference to a Denon 3803. Does anyone know if this is true and if so are there any details on it yet. It only seems like yesterday that I was lusting after the 3802!
    That's progress I suppose.

Reiner mentioned this in one of his recent posts, not heard anything myself about the new model, though details of their new models tend to appear around this time of year.

The 3801 had been out for a year when the 3802 appeared, so it would seem to be the right timing for a 3803. I wonder what extras it will have?

A price hike probably as there isn't much that it hasn't already got.

At a guess, maybe DTS 96/24 but that would mean they´d have to change the processor, its not uncommon for the processors in the higher end amps to filter down to the other amps in the range. Might have Dolby Headphone included, and maybe some internal mods, power supply etc.

All supposition though so dont quote me on it!!

The three 02 receivers are fairly close to each other and it wouldn't surprise me if they took the 3803 more upmarket (and expensive) to ensure that it won't take sales away from the two junior models.

It may also recreate that true cinema experience by randomly emitting mobile phone tunes, coughing and sweet paper rustling during use

Don't need one of them as it would make the wife redundant.

Excellent. Although for true cinema experience will it be able to have a group of 17year old fat chicks discussing the great stereo in 'Pauls' car and making unrealistc sound effects of the baseline during the film.

(I should be able to re-create my own dulcet tones asking them politly to 'Please be quiet'.... or words to that effect)

150w per channel instead of 105w.

Not bad increase. Only had my 3802 a couple of months as well. Still I might wait a while then get a really big one !!!
