Does the component video conversion on this Amp offer an improvement over S-Video?
I am considering this Amp to connect a number of S-Video and a Component Sources to a DLP projector such as the Sim2 Dimono 20.
Would it be best to run just a component cable or to also run an S-video cable to the PJ?

I have a 3803 and use video switching (and s-video to component from sky+)

Despite careful testing I just can't tell difference using direct or switched sources.

Convenience factor is imho worth it - the PJ will still do its stuff whether you feed it s-video or component signals,

Native SVGA or DVI sources are a different matter (but not something the 3803 can handle in any event!)

    Cheers
