    i know i can upgrade the inputs to component out but can you also get the osd up on the screen via component out, then i would only need to buy the panny 6 with just the component board saving a few quid

    You can get the OSD of the 3803 on the component out yes.

    Although I've read that some S-Video Inputs up-converted to Component Video tend to lose any OSDs.

    Worth noting that some DVD players require a composite / svideo connection for setup etc (HK DVD 25 being one).
