The manual for 3802 says I can get the remote to control other bits of kit by keying the 4 digit code from the supplied list. However, there was no supplied list of Manufacturers/Codes. Does anyone have one?

    John,

The Denon also allows you to search automatically for the code, it scrolls through the codes and you have to hit the button when it operates the right bit of kit. The manual explains the steps.:)

    Thanks Garry,

I did try that, but it doesn't seem to work for my Pioneer DVD player. I've tried the "learn" method, but it's a bit tedious.

Am I alone in thinking the manual is baddly written and presented? Most of the examples where it shows which button to press on the remote are so small, they are almost unreadable.

    hi,
dont know what pioneer model you are using but this may be relevant .
seems pioneer have decided to use high frequency infa red.

this is about one of the philips universal remotes

    * NOTE: NOT suitable for Digital Cable boxes (NTL and Telewest), Pioneer DVD players, or B&O equipment, which use high frequency IR codes

    try this link.

Anyone managed to control a Sony VTX-S760U stb from their 3802 remote?
If so, what was the code? My autosearch couldn't find it.
(Apologies for posting to this froum as well)

    John,
I have a 3802 myself. In the code leaflet it says that for a Pioneer DVD player you should use either 0552 or 0598.
These are the only two codes listed for them.

    Good Luck
    Barry

    Pat,
Ready for this. In my code manual it says for a Sony satellite to try:-
    0302,0367,0513,0516,0518,0519,0520,0521,0523,0526,0527,
    0666,0688.
    Good luck.

    John,

I've got a 3802 as well. If you have a fax number, mail it to me and i'll send you a copy of the list if you still need it.

I have the Denon 3801 and have got the remote to work (with no problem) on SONY KV36FS70, SKY DIGITAL (PACE), NTL DIGITAL CABLE (PACE), PIONEER DVD636, JVC S-VHS VIDEO. This was all done buy the learning feature of the remote tedious maybe but it all works. Done it all while the misses was watching crossroads, should have seen the steam coming out her ears lol.

    Guys,

thank for the help. 0552 works up to a point. The lack of navigation keys for getting around menus is a bit limitting, but at least I can Play and Stop.

Ian, thanks for offering to fax me the list. Unfortunatley I don't have a fax number. I'll contact Denon and ask them to send me one.

    Thanks again

    John

This took a while for me to figure out as well, but if you press the DVD button at the top of the remote TWICE!!! it toggles between DVD and DVD SETUP modes. In DVD SETUP mode, you can then use the cursor keys to navigate menus etc, and the ENTER button is available as well.

    Enjoy...

    Pat,

I have exactly the same Sony SKY stb, and could not get any of the pre-programmed Denon rc codes to work. However, struck lucky with my JVC rc which managed to operate the Sony as an Amstrad!! Eventually managed to get the Denon rc to learn all the codes from the Sony rc - the Denon continually reports FAIL while learning, but persevere and eventually it reports COMPLETE and all is fine (sometimes took 15-20 attempts to learn each code!)
