I just purchased a panasonic phd8 plasma. I have been testing this via component leads from a denon 2910 dvd player. I used the progressive scan out put ofthe player and noticed dancing pixel artifacts slight purple tinge to greys [clouds etc] and blocking in fairly dark to dark scenes [much worse when using dvi out/hdmi out]. I switched off the progressive scan and let the screen de-interlace the picture this exhibited 70 % less artifacts in the same scenes. I put the blame on the 2310 faroudja chip. It causes blocking and general picture noise in darker scenes. I spent £500 on this player and feel it is not worth the money.

anyone else had a similar experience?
