    Denon 2900 Multi-Region DVD PAL/NTSC Prog Scan.

When switching over to Progressive Scan while watching DVD film the player inserts two thick bars down each side of screen.
I have tried changing the aspect ratio from 16:9 widescreen to 4:3 but the problem is still present.

I hope there is a solution, perhaps with firmware upgrade?
I have not found this problem on any other thread.:lease: HELP

No one seems to have any advice, should I contact Denon(UK)?

I have a MR 2900 and always run Progressive Scan, have never experienced this issue. Does this only happen on Region 1's or Region 2's?

Any region I play with Prog Scan through Component seems to squeeze the onscreen picture.

Spoke to Denon Customer Support, they have never come across this problem and advised me to take the player back to retailer for diagnostic.
Luckily its still under guarantee. Just have to wait 2 weeks to see if they can find out a solution.

If you can get yourself a loan DVD unit, see if you can get one with Progressive Scan. At least then you'll be able to check the cable/TV combo with a different player. I have seen a couple of progressive capable TV's that had strange reactions to being fed a progressive scan image.
