I successfully flashed my Denon 2900 R1 (US/Canada) to MR with the Italian 42-f firmware. Before that the front display (when you press STOP and >>│ simultaneously) said REGION_1, now it's REGION_A1.

I just wonder why it still says 1 when it's supposed to be MR as it plays R2 and R3 now.

Those who have MR Denons, what does the display show?

I have a Region 2 unit that shows REGION_A2 when changed to MR. So it looks like the A signifies MR...

Also, I think you'll find there's a 43-f firmware available which you might want to track down a copy of.

Thanks for your reply! Reassuring to know.

I read somewhere else that the 'A' seems to indicate MR but it's still strange to flag the 1 or 2.

As to the 43-f, I've read about it on another thread. The present 42-f works so I'll hold off for the moment.
