I'd like to know about this as well.

Have just bought mine and will be getting it next week.

Have downloaded the firmware ready to do but am now having second thoughts.

I mean, if I bugger it up what can I do ?

    Cheers, Lee

You should get it hacked by a denon dealer....then if it goes wrong, its their prob and not yours....if you do it yourself and it goes wrong, then you will be paying just as much as the player cost you, for denon to sort it out.

I've seen posts on here where it happened....someone decided to firware hack their 3800 with one off the net and it went wrong......denon charged quit a bit to sort it out.

I should point out that quite a few other people used the same download and had no probs.

They should not charge you, if you bought it from a denon dealer you should be entitled to the latest bug fixing firmware update (which happens to be region free).
