Hi everybody, My rather elderly Panasonic A310 DVD player is I think on it's last legs as it refuses to play a majority of new titles properly including T3 (R2) and Last Crusade (R1) to name but a few. So I'm in the market for a new player. As I recently bought an AE300 pj, I want something that will provide progressive scan for both NTSC and PAL (assuming that this will improve pq - I get the impression it will from other members!!) I have been reading up on and looking at 2 main contenders. The Denon 2900 and the Arcam DV88+. The Denon seems a better machine to go for based on it's spec and price (oh and I do so like champagne gold!!!) But.... It seems that a lot of people are mentioned issues they have with the 2900 in terms of disc freezing (which I'm trying to get away from!!) and lip sync. So my question is this: Is it a good time to buy one or wait for firmware updates and people's experience with it? A number of places seem to be selling them for around the £700 mark for a multi-region machine which it must be as I have both region 1 and 2 DVDs Thanks in advance for any useful advice. Chris Nightingale.
