Is the Denon 2805 + B&W DM602 S3 with LCR60 or 600 a good combo? I've bought the Denon and need the speakers now. I want it for films, tv and like a good helping of bass with pop and rock music. My room is 15'8" by 14'5" with open stairs.

Go for non metal tweeter speakers with the Denon...

My sugestion... QUAD L series, AE Elite series ... go and listen.
Both tried and very good with a 3805.

Add a BK sub at a bargain price or a REL/MJ Acoustics sub.

I had a Denon 3802 with B&W 603s3 fronts and an LCR60 centre and IMO the setup gave excellent sound for the money. I think Denon and B&W work well together.
I would however say to stick with the LCR60 rather than the LCR 600 as the 600 is massive and will outperform the 602's as it is bigger than them. I would also recommend getting a good subwoofer if you want good bass as even very expensive main speakers struggle to produce the really low bass/LFE in movies. Also the Denons amps will not be able to keep up with the amount of power required for the lower bass, so a subs internal amp will take over the workload.

    Mark.

if you are after a sorrennto lcr 60 let me know as i have one lying around waiting to go to ebay. Will put it in the classifieds though if you are interested. Lcr 60 is gd speaker for the money but if you can accommodate the 600 space wise it is worth the extra cash imo.

I am extremely delighted with my Denon & B&W set up. I too think they are a good combination. When I was running sweep test for frequency response, the 602s3 were performing well and flat to almost 30Hz. MY 604's produce a good flat response to below 30Hz. So the 602's should serve you well with your newly acquired 2805. :)
