Going to Sevenoaks this Saturday for a listen & watch session.

I'm looking at home cinema and hi fi separates. On the Amp side, the guy at S&V has suggested I look at the Denon 2802 (or is it the 2801?) as a dual purpose Home Cinema and Hi Fi amp.

He's talking up the benefits of DPL II as a selling point.

Originally I was thinking a Yamaha 620 RDS for the Home Cinema, and a separate amp for the hi fi (e.g NAD C350/370).

    So, my questions are:

    1. Separate amps, or one that will do both jobs?
    2. Dolby Pro Logic II - worth it?

    Cheers

Of course a dedicated hifi amp gives better sound, but I think a good receiver is good enough for most people.
I have yet to try PLII, but I have also yet to read a negative review of it...

I'm also strongly considering the Denon 2802, so it would be great if you shared your thoughts after you tried it!
