It's the control codes for the 2802. if you had a 3rd party RC like pronto print, etc, you could enter them via a PC so that it would operate your 2802. perhaps.

Is it not just the list of the controls that the various IR codes manipulate to be used for example to edit discrete IR commands in a Pronto. Useful if there is no button on the remote that does whatever (toggles etc.)

I kind of worked out it's the remote control codes (hence title of thread) it just says on the Denon site that they're the NEW codes (hence the title of thread) and I wondered how they might be different to the old codes.

Sorry, my fault for posting the direct link rather than the Denon site link to the .pdf this is where my confusion arose.

These new codes offer many new features like

6.1 (aka RC EX) - so that you can now stand behind your settee and point it at the machine

Higher sampling rate - so that it turns off exactly when you hit the button on the remote

Multi-room operation - you can now stand in another room, and through use of mirrors, you can still operate the 2802, and

cross-over switching - allows you to use either hand to operate.

Believe it or not, I don't actually work for denon.
