I have just got one. I am wondering what the best setting for the Auto detect is. The manual says off, switching the read centre on separately.

What is everyone doing with the EX detection?

    Cheers

    Mines OFF.

Hardly any discs have the EX/ES flag encoded, you can also switch the rear centres on/off via the remote easily enough (unlike mine!! nice one Denon!! )

I couldn't find how to switch it by remote. Off seems the sensible thing though.

    Cheers

Maybe the 2802 remote is different to the 3801/2 remote??

On the 3801/2 you just press the 6.1/7.1 button to turn them on/off.

My A1SE you have to go thru the onscreen menus, right pain in the ar5e!! Or actually get up and walk to the amp to press a button!!

I'll have a further look at it tonight.

I have been using the button on the fascia.

This will give you some much needed exersise, or you can upgrade to a 3802 where you can switch this function on/off via the remote. :D ;)

I have just got the 2802, I made a calculated descision based on the power requirements and the number of DVD's I could but with the £150 saving over the 3802!

    :D

It also keeps me in the good books with 'our lass'!

I've a 2802, and although the remote is different between the two models, I am pretty sure the 2802 remote also has a 6.1/7.1.

I concur, very few discs seem to have the flag encoded.
