    Hi,

Does the Denon 2800 (MK1, not MKII) player support DVD-R and DVD-RW? The manual says it doesnt, but my sony player manual said it didn't support CDR, but it did :)

I saw the Harman Kardon DVD 25 which seems to have the same characteristics than the denon 2800 (progressive scan, etc), for half the price. Where is the catch? Is the HK player as good as the denon, or is there something it doesnt do as good?

    Thanks,
    Stoub2000

pretty sure the Denon manual explicitly states that it doesn't do DVR-R.

as for the HK dvd 25, hopefully there is no catch and it should be a very good player.

pretty much everyone has had a problem with the 2800 so I dont t think its any great standard to hold up against now.

the hk25's progressive scan chipset mostly likely isnt quite as good as the 2800s sil503 but will still do perfectly acceptable video without any problems.
