Denon 2500BT replacement

Hi all,

Seems my trusty 2500BT is on its last legs and i therefore am in the market for a replacement. Cash isnt strictly an issue but ideally i need to spend the least amount of money possible. I also own a PS3 phat old style one and a Sony S360, which sonically are no patch on the Denon. Im not bothered about any other features other than to give me a geat picture and sound. I have a Yamaha Aventage 3010 which can obviously do the onboard decoding. Anyone have any suggestions?

I know price wise its in a different league but would the Sony 790 be able to compete sonically?

In many ways the Sony is the better buy bangs for bucks than the Oppo,if your going to just as an transport for BD,the Sony or a Panasonic,may not quite the build of the 2500BT.

For me theses days most player would do me,no interest in streaming or need for any analog inputs.

Denon 2500BT is a transport only, and all audio is decoded by your brilliant receiver. Using ANY blu ray player to bitstream audio to your receiver will produce same results. Hope this helps.
