    Hello guys!
I have just ordered the brand new Denon 2200 dvd player.
I am gonna upgrade my good old Sony 725D 'cause it doesn't
have progressive scan technology and having a Panny AE300
I wanna enjoy it to the max.
I have been reading that the 2200 is very similar to the 2900
and shares the same silicon image processor for deinterlacing.
I was reading about the Denon 2900 just now and I've read
of people saying it still has the chroma bug issue!!!! Now I
wonder if the 2200 has it too! From what I read from the specs
it says it uses a new processor which is chroma bug free but
I really don't know what to believe right now!
I chose the Denon 2200 over the Sony 930 'cause I thought it
was a better machine after all but now i hope i haven't spent
    double the money for nothing!
Also a last question...is it possible to make the 2200 region free
too using the firmware on the cd like for the 2900??

    Thanks for your interest!

    i've got some updates.
From further reading it seems like the Denon 2200 doesn't suffer from Chroma Bug but it has a problem with Chroma Upsampling.
From what I've read it doesn't seem to be such a big problem but I don't understand so much about these things so I would be really glad if you could explain me if it's some major issue to take into consideration (considering I'm gonna use it with a projector and a big screen) or not.

    Thanks again!

    hello cybersoga.
Thanks for the link about the Denon 2200.
I have read that article and one on a Danish website about the 2900 which seems to be the same piece of machine in many points. From this last article it emerges that the problem with the Chroma upsampling is not an issue at all and it's only barely noticeable on NTSC DVD's encoded with a certain kind of alt. progressive flag encoding like Monsters inc. NTSC DVD.
There is an example on the website. www.dvd-a.dk
Since I'll be using the dvd player with PAL system only I don't think the problem will exist at all!

    Thanks again!

    Take care
