Does anyone else have the problem that in HDMI mode (all 3 resolutions) a 2:35:1 aspect dvd only takes up about a third of the screen.

The screen is a Toshiba 32wl56 and in HDMI mode you can't adjust the tv screen size at all. Dvd's with 1.85:1 are fine -with the whole screen used.

The Denon 1920 settings are 16:9 widescreen HDMI YrBrCr and any adjustments I make to these setings doesn't improve the problem.

    Any help would be welcomed

have you set it to TV aspect = wide 16:9? I don't know if that makes any differences.

TV aspect 16:9 yes. The Denon set to this and the TV before the HDMI connection is made, however when the Denon is connected to the TV in HDMI mode thr TV controls are not available and changing any of the Denon controls dosen''t have any effect. (Except the zoom button - but this is not a good idea as you only have x2 which is too high.

    Cheers
