Was in the market for a Denon 1920 but it seems it is now discontinued. Only place I have found them at want £299.99 for one.
Looking for a quality player around that price mark (200-250) that is reliable, plays all the formats and media (up to and including SACD and DVD-Audio) and also has a HDMI port. The 1920 fit the bill perfectly.
Now, I called Denon and they were not forthcoming on any info just stating the replacement will be the 1930 and they are looking at bringing forward its release due to the 1920 drying up so quickly.
The 1730 was released to replace the 1720 and by all reviews and accounts it is not a patch on the previous version. My fear is the 1930 could be in the same boat (especially if they are "bringing its release forward").
So do I -
1 - Pay over the odds for a 1920 now
2 - Wait and see if the 1930 lives up to expectations some time later this year
3 - Look at an alternate model that has all the features I want. Anybody suggest any ?
TIA
