    Denon DVD-1910 @720p DVI (firmware 1.12)
    Sanyo PLV-Z2 (firmware 1.06)

Tell me something, is 720p the best setting to use with the 1910, i too have the great Z2. How do you tell the firmware version of the PJ by the way?

i have it send me a mesage with email address and ill send it

This updates the DVD-1910 firmware to allow it to play region 1 and 2 discs and RCE. It also allows progressive scan of Region 1 DVD's and 720p or 1080i upscaling as with region 2 DVD's. The firmware is an 'official' release from Denon and it works perfectly

    cheers

    anyone able to advise ?

I purchased a multi-region 1910 not long after it came out to connect to my Hitachi 5200 via DVI. It lasted only a few weeks before it was relegated to the back bedroom and connection to a small TV.

My problems where not exactly with the picture but with the slow clunky operation of the 1910. It seemed to take an age for a DVD to get started and when you stopped the disc it hardly ever resumed from the point you left it (and certainly would not remember the location if the DVD was removed)

Does the newer firmware do anything to correct this. I would like to see what it was like connected to my Samsung DLP set - but if the clunky operation is still there I will probably give it a miss
