I finally got round to updating my Home Cinema Amp, and opted for a Denon 1906.
I have ended up Bi-Amping my front speakers, and I am generally happy over my previous Amplifier.
Then a friend of mine has offered me his Yamaha AV1 for £300. Although 7 years old, it is very impressive in his system.
Would I be wise to sell my own (still in guarantee), and buy the AV1?
How much emphasis should I put on modern features over what was probably a £1500 classy amplifier? Should I consider THD specs?
I mainly listen to Squeezebox and DVD movies.
Specs
1906 is 7.1(or bi-amp with 5.1) DTS (Neo etc) 20-20Khz 0.08% THD
AV1 is 5.1 20-20hz 0.015% THD
Obviously, it would be great to plug the AV1 in and test it in my set-up, but that isn't practical (in time or getting to borrow it).
Any help would be appreciated.
