    Hi all,
I'm looking for a home cinema setup to go with my newly-purchased plasma (PWD7). Budget up to ~£600 for amp+speakers, less if possible. Key requirements are good sound, negligible PQ loss, component switching and lip sync delay adjustment. Desirable features are svideo to component conversion, setup mike and 'not too big a box'.

My original plan was to get a Denon AVR1906 with the power buy Canton CD1 - total price ~£520. But then I saw this german Yamaha RX-V757 and Canton CD1 package from Hickmann Hifi at 699 euros = ~£500 (plus postage).

And they have the same package with a 657 for 100 euros less...

 So now I don't know what to go for...

Which of the two would you choose and why? Or is there another one I should wait for e.g. might the CA Azur 640R or new 540R have more features that would match my requirements?

    Many thanks for any assistance...
